We hope you will enjoy viewing the photographs of our joyous celebration.
Celebrations began with the Lesser Blessing of Water by His Eminence Archbishop Dmitri, Diocese of Dallas and the South. Joined by Fr Philip Reese, Rector, area clergy, and the faithful from several parishes, the Blessing was also met with an early morning Miami shower contributing plenty of liquid sunshine to the Blessing! The customary Ribbon Cutting and entry through the Cathedral's main doors was expedited and all entered (albeit quickly) the narthex and nave for the Opening to continue and conclude with blessing throughout the Cathedral!
Third Hour was read by Readers and choir members as Archbishop Dmitri tonsured two new Readers (one from Christ the Saviour!), and ordination of two new Sub Deacons.
A Hierarchal Divine Liturgy celebrated by Archbishop Dmitri. Concelebrants included
Fr Philip, Rector, and local area clergy.
The day's celebration concluded with a banquet held in the new Social Hall. Incidentally, the Hall's transformation from a Church was dramatic, as evidenced by removal and replacement of carpet on the stage (former altar area). The former partition between Church and Hall was removed. Fresh paint covered missed spots on the wall left from where the Iconastasis was previously installed.
